For 100 years, the name Meywald has stood for customized surfaces. Under the brand name meyband®, we offer innovative coatings for strips, wires and ropes out of steel, stainless steel, nitinol, aluminium and non-ferrous metals.

We develop our surface coatings individually according to your customers’ requirements, for example deformable, decorative, weather-resistant, temperature-resistant, sliding, noise-minimizing, adhesive, insulating or conductive.

Coil Coating

We coat metallic strip material continuously with coating materials specially adapted to your application. Areas of application for coil coating are, for example, architecture, automotive, household appliances and medical technology.

Wire/Rope Coating

We coat metallic round, flat and profiled wire and rope up to a diameter of 3 mm in a continuous process using coating materials specially adapted to your application. Areas of application for wire and rope coating include, for instance, the fields of architecture, household appliances and medical technology.

Extrusion

Extrusion is a continuous process in which we combine plastics of different chemical properties with a metallic partner to form a composite material. We implement customer-specific final geometries of wire and strip extrusions with a maximum of flexibility.

Profiling / Cambering

Whether final piece goods or endless material: we supply you with steel- or stainless steel strips with the demanded profiling. Our speciality is the cambering of the strips, which provides the required rigidity to achieve a considerably higher longitudinal and transversal stability.

In 1921 Albert Meywald founded the company in Kassel. Since then, it has steadily been expanded by the family. Today the enterprise is being operated as an innovative coating company by the 4th generation.

Coil Coating – an alternative to part coating

Whether stamped and bent parts out of spring steel strips, which reduce noise in cars thanks to a perfect sliding coating, or stainless steel strips, which by means of a bonding agent coating form a bond with plastic in injection molding: We offer the suitable coating for a
variety of application areas, from architecture to medical technology.
According to your specifications, we develop coated surfaces for mainly metallic strips, currently up to a width of 150 mm. Your strip-shaped semi-finished products are coated before they are further processed by you.

Wire/Rope Coating

Whether wires which, thanks to their perfect sliding coating (PTFE), are used in the human body as medical guide wires, or coloured stainless steel ropes which, with weather-resistant coating, are used worldwide as rope mesh netting: We can advise you on the right coating for your project.
Metallic round, flat and profiled wires and ropes up to a diameter of 3 mm serve as base materials, while coating materials include, for example, non-stick coatings with very good sliding properties, decorative, weather-resistant coatings or adhesion promoters for bonding plastic to metal.

Plastics of different chemical properties form a compound with a metallic material. In this way, various final geometries are possible in a continuous process, which we offer as wire or strip extrusion.

Profiling / Cambering of Strip Material

Whether in one piece or endless: We deliver steel or stainless steel strips with the desired profile. Our specialty is the crowning of the straps, which gives the metal strip the required rigidity for significantly higher longitudinal and transverse stability.
